Shahid Kapoor and brother Ishaan Khatter were the guests on Karan Johar’s chat show this weekend. They did speak quite a bit about their exes and dating life. In the rapid fire round, Shahid Kapoor was asked about who was the better co-star out of Ranveer Singh and Saif Ali Khan. The Haider actor promptly took Saif’s name. The two have worked together in Vishal Bhardwaj’s Rangoon. Both the actors were appreciated for their powerful performances in the film. In Padmaavat, the major screen time was given to Ranveer Singh who played Alauddin Khilji, the Mughal invader to perfection. It was a performance that appealed to both classes and masses. Karan also asked him if there was some tension between Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and him during the making of Padmaavat. The film is the biggest hit of Shahid’s career.
He played the role of Raja Rawal Ratan Singh, the idealistic and righteous Rajput ruler in the film. Shahid told Karan, “It’s really a big film and the stakes were very high for everybody. So everybody wanted to have their A-game on. Everybody was doing everything it takes to kind of be in the centre of the limelight. I’m sure everybody felt a bit threatened by each other at some level, it’s natural.”
When asked if he was still friends with the film’s cast, he replied in the negative. Shahid stated, “My relationship status with most of the industry is zilch. Honestly, Deepika, Ranveer and Sanjay sir never became a part of my friend circle as such. I think it was more a professional thing. And it’s not the status was different and it’s changed in any manner. We connected when we were working and now we don’t have any connection.”
